Interactive,
age-appropriate assembly programs. Students solve
problems, apply new vocabulary, experiment with sound, consider
the role of musicians in history, and hear a variety of
music on harps. Adjusted for lower, middle or upper grade
levels.
Workshops
30
harps are provided for student use. No
previous musical experience
required. Students play songs
on their "own" harps; grades 4 and up perform
a song in harmony. Hands-on activities teach musical concepts
and acoustical science as students work with real musical
instruments.
Multi-Day
Residencies with Student Performance
Variety
of activities including assemblies, workshops, teacher
workshops and concerts that feature students playing harps
(other instruments also possible, please enquire). Families
are invited to attend a concert featuring students playing
harps.
Additional
option: Invite the ensemble Lyrica
(harp/flute/cello) to your chamber series and include children
from your community performing on stage with professional
musicians.

What
Presenters and Educators say about Holly's Harps
"Captivating
performance! A musical treat and an educational success!"
- N.
Hashimoto, Japan
"It
is difficult to say who enjoyed her work more, the children,
staff, or the community. The children were lifted to a higher
plane. They not only performed on harps, but actually wrote
music." - Annabelle
Miller, Fairview School, MI
"The
organization and implementation of the harp workshop was
extraordinary. She skillfully adjusted the lesson to meet
each child's ability, challenging those that worked at greater
proficiency, and simplifying for those physically and/ or
mentally challenged." - Rebecca
Haywood, Prestonsburg, KY
"These
students now understand that they can be musicians."
- Rebecca Aldinger, Wendlingen, Germany
"Every
class - kindergarten through fifth grade - left feeling
successful. They had played a song on a harp!"
- Kathy Hyland, Struble Elementary, OH
"The
assemblies were a wonderful educational experience for our
students. We do not have a string program in our county.
All the pictures and recordings in the world cannot teach
what Holly's Harps brought to our schools." -
Whitfield County Schools, GA
"The
children not only had fun, but retained knowledge months
later." - Sherry Cecil, Willowfield
School, NY
"This
was our concert of the decade." -
James Wharton, London, United Kingdom
